Online therapy takes place via a secure, HIPAA-complaint platform. All you need is a private place to talk and a good internet connection. Online sessions aren’t appropriate for every circumstance, but we can discuss whether this option is a good fit for your needs.

My rate is $310 for a 50-minute therapy hour.

I am an out-of-network provider for insurance. I do not bill insurance directly, but I will provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for them to reimburse you. You may want to check with your insurance company to find out how much your plan reimburses for out-of-network mental health services, and what your deductible is for out-of-network services. Unfortunately, Medicaid will not reimburse for out-of-network providers.

The “No Surprises Act” requires mental health practitioners to provide a “Good Faith Estimate” about out-of-network care to any patient who is uninsured or who is insured but does not plan to use their insurance benefits to pay for health care services.

The Good Faith Estimate shows the cost of items and services that are reasonably expected for your mental health care needs. The estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate was created. The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment.

You are entitled to receive this “Good Faith Estimate” of what the charges could be for psychotherapy services provided to you. While it is not possible for psychotherapists to know, in advance, how many psychotherapy sessions may be necessary or appropriate for a given person upon the initiation of psychotherapy, this form provides an estimate of the cost of services provided. Your total cost of services will depend on the number of psychotherapy sessions you attend, your individual circumstances, and the type and amount of services that are provided to you. This estimate is not a contract and does not obligate you to obtain any services from the provider listed.

In our intake session, we will go over privacy information and consent forms. We will discuss the issues that bring you to therapy. I will ask some questions about your history and any symptoms you are experiencing. Together we will identify some goals for our work together.

If the therapy is for your older child or teen, the intake will include both you and your child.

If the therapy is for your young child, we will meet together without your child for the first few sessions for me to get history from you. Together we will learn about what is going on for your family and make a plan for how we will support your child. After we have established this foundation, we will introduce therapy to your young child.

The amount of time that someone spends in therapy varies tremendously depending on the issue they are dealing with, the frequency with which they attend therapy, and the progress that they make in therapy. You should expect it to take at least several months. For some people doing deeper work or work for serious trauma, therapy may take years. You will be an active participant in deciding the pace of our work, setting goals, and deciding when you are ready to end therapy.
